background + experience:

Trained under acclaimed story consultant John Yorke, Phoebe has provided script reading services for festivals and collaborated with production companies such as Hangtime Pictures, where she evaluates and reports on script submissions. She also offers tailored one-on-one script feedback, consulting, and development services, supporting directors and writers at every stage of the creative process with professional insight and guidance.

In addition to her screen work, Phoebe has served as a script consultant and editor for podcast series produced for The Guardian. She has also worked extensively on both the short and feature versions of Celia, collaborating closely with director Illana Barkusky. Phoebe script-edited the completed short film and contributed to successful funding applications for both projects, helping secure more than $100K in financing, including additional grants awarded by the Canada Council for the Arts. Following the award of these development grants, Phoebe has continued to consult on and script-edit the feature, supporting its progression through the development process.

Phoebe recently script-edited three episodes for The Guardian Labs’ science video podcast, featuring Professor Hannah Fry, Dr Emma Dabiri, and Dr Adam Rutherford. Her role was to translate complex scientific concepts into accessible, engaging scripts while weaving in humour and personality to reach a broad audience.
